"Radio Dog" was the name of the first three-wheeled radio controlled drone developed by the McCook Field's Radio Laboratory (later to become part of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base) in 1922. The next version appeared in 1923 and was redesignated "Radio Controlled Car". These early researches were used in WWII to develop drone aircrafts.
